The IPH&H-School of Renal Lab Sciences specializes in the instruction of applied epithelial physiology and pathophysiology, renal genetics and cell biology, immunology and inflammation, mineral metabolism, cardiovascular disease, as well as various approaches to renal replacement therapy and conservative management. This expertise is utilized in kidney research, clinical practice, and educational training.
After training in fundamental medical sciences, students learn to prepare dialysis fluids, clean dialyzers, and ready patients for dialysis. They document patient information, explain machine operation, provide comfort, and initiate care, including safety checks and monitoring patient responses. Students also assist in kidney transplants and support nephrologists. Upon completion, they are prepared to work in nephrology departments, dialysis units, or transplant centers.
